Jul Thu 2024
More than 40 workers were busy picking bird’s eye chillies at chili pepper bases of Pailaguang Village and Mao’er Village in Mao’er Township, Huayuan County on July 10.

Rows of chili peppers are growing well in the planting base. According to preliminary statistics, the two village collectives planted about 100 mu (about 6.67 hectares) of chilli peppers. The total output of the first batch of bird’s eye chillies is expected to reach 27,000 kg. Based on the market price of 3.2 yuan per kg, the village collective economic income can reach 86,400 yuan.

This year, Mao’er Township planted about 600 mu (40 hectares) of chilli peppers according to local conditions. By introducing quality varieties of chilli peppers, and strengthening technical training and scientific management, the yield and quality of bird’s eye chillies have been significantly improved.

The bumper harvest not only increases the income of villagers, but also injects strong impetus into rural revitalization.

Mao’er Township will continue to increase support for the agricultural industry, continuously optimize the industrial structure, extend the industrial chain, increase the added value of agricultural products, and enable more villagers to get rich.
